Letters to Marie - June 22, 1919

June 22, 1919

My own Darling Honeysuckle.

Another Sunday nearer to the time when I can take you in my arms and say to you “Here is your Daddy, never again to leave you for so long.” To take you in my arms and to kiss and caress love and fondle you is the sole subject of my thoughts, Love Love all day and the same thing at night. I dream of your sweet face of having it in my arms, of having your hair brushing against me, Dearest the time goes so slow and our mail seems so long in getting here on June 20th I received your letter dated May 31st that’s seven or eight days longer than it generally takes. I suppose so many men going back at this time and so much readdressing of letters it is difficult to get them through.

Dearie, I am still convinced we will be back sometime the first part of August and the plan I mentioned in my letters your by is the best, ? Pack everything, and wait until I send you a telegram to come.
Paddy and Jack are out walking this afternoon. Paddy is much better and is sure anxious for the time to get back home.

Last night I went to a picture show and saw “Napoleon” a French photo is wasn’t much good, so got rather sleepy. Was in bed at 11:00 o’clock.

Dearest why do you say I don’t write often. I always write at least three letters a week and if you write one you are satisfied but never mind our letter writing days are almost over.

I haven’t any more news will write tomorrow.
Best love to babies and a million kisses to you.

From your Daddy Al
